Welcome to our nursery, which opened in June 1990 and still retains its original Proprietors/Directors and Officer in Charge/Lead Practitioner
We were the first private day care nursery to be established in Market Drayton and expanded in September 1994 and again in 2007 to include a before and after school club which is called “Club 5-11”.
Mount Lane Day Care Nursery and Club 5-11 is an integral part of the local community and a majority of the staff are local to the Market Drayton area.
Our nursery has 105 full time places, organised as follows: –
We also have the Green Room which is accessible to all children where the aim is to create a homely environment in which the children can learn and develop.
The children can attend our nursery for as little as just one 5-hour session per week or as much as 5 full days per week. We also accept Government funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This entitles a child to attend up to 15/30 hours per week (term time only).
We are Ofsted registered and our most recent inspection of 24th February 2022 graded us as “good”. In addition to this we also have the ‘Eat Better, Move More’ award in recognition of our commitment to improving the provision of healthy food/snacks and drinks and increasing levels of physical activity. This is endorsed by the British Heart Foundation and the School Food Trust Project, ‘Eat Better Start Better’ which promotes the ‘Voluntary Food and Drinks Guidelines for Early Years Settings in England’. This sits alongside, 5 “Very Good” Food Hygiene Rating. We have also previously held a ‘Platinum Healthy Eating’ award and ‘Quality Matters’ both of which were awarded by Shropshire Council and the Local Authority but have since phased out.
